Week 7: Mind Map
Assignment Title: Gliffy Mind Mapping
Uses in the Classroom: Students could use this Mind Map to help understand the contributions that George Washington Carver made on science. This topic would reach out to a variety of learners and it would show how a little drive can take a person, who was kicked out of school for the color of his skin, to conquer whatever their dreams are. Students could also use this mind map as an example of how to create a similar project. Students could implement what they see here and design a mind map of their own for another famous scientist.
Issues to Consider: Students would have to consider where they are getting their images from and whether or not they are following copyright laws correctly.

Week 6: Photo Editing
Assignment Title: Animated GIF
Uses in the Classroom: Anyone could add an animated GIF file to catch a reader's attention. If a teacher made this for their students, they could add the blinking GIF file to their class website and this would catch the readers eye so the students would be guided to a certain point on the page. You could animate blinking text that reads, "Click Here" to really grab a person's attention. Students could then carry out their task with more efficiency because they would literally be pointed in the right direction.
Issues to Consider: I don't think I would have my students do this very often because it would take a lot of time to explain and it wouldn't always fit the biology standards unless the students were working on a presentation that used technology. I would use this more as a teacher and although it takes time, it could really help students pay attention during a presentation or navigate through the web.
